What can I expect from my free phone consultation? When you call our office, you'll be greeted by the friendly voice of Janet. She'll put you in contact with Jon, Pete or Michelle. One of these licensed physical therapists, will gladly discuss your current injury to determine if physical therapy is right for you. They'll also offer advice on what steps you should take next.
Will my insurance cover visits to Dynamic Sports Physical Therapy? Most insurance plans do cover physical therapy. As a courtesy we'll collect your insurance information and verify your benefits. This way you'll know your responsibilities before you step foot in the door. All you have to do is give us a call. 212-317-8303
Will I need a prescription from a doctor to receive care? Although recent changes in NYS law make it possible for you to visit us without a prescription, most insurance plans still require one to process your claims. If you need a referral to a doctor we'll recommend a specialist for your injury.
What happens on my first visit? When you first visit our office, you should arrive 10-15 minutes early to take care of any paper work. Then we'll spend some time getting to know you and what led to you having to see us. We'll review your doctor's prescription and perform a full evaluation.
We'll take measurements regarding range of motion, strength and pain levels. We'll also perform specific tests to locate imbalances that may be the source of your pain. Then we'll devise a plan of care to put you on the road to recovery.
What do I need to bring to my appointments? On your first visit you'll need to bring the following:
√ Forms A, B, and C; printed and signed accessed on our website page "Patient Resources".
√ A change of clothing (something loose and comfortable, i.e. exercise clothes and sneakers). For your convenience, locker rooms with showers and towels are provided.
√ A prescription for physical therapy
√ Your insurance card
What happens during my follow-up visits? To start we'll see how you're doing with your home exercises. We'll take a look at the progression you've made since your last visit and combine precise hands-on techniques with exercises and modalities designed to strengthen your body and relieve your pain. You can expect each follow-up visit to last 45-minutes.
