January 2020 Newsletter

Happy New Year! Let's kick off this new decade with some new announcements and recap 2019.

  1. We want to give a warm welcome to our new physical therapist, Jason Ryu, PT, DPT, CSOMT. Jason received his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from Texas A&M University and his Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. Fun fact, Jason eats a slice of pizza almost daily from the pizzeria near his apartment!
  2. In 2019, we at Dynamic Sports gifted ourselves with biofeedback hardware and software to aid in the treatment of headache prevention and control. Ashli and Pete have developed an 8 session protocol that includes progressive muscle relaxation, paced breathing, postural exercise, and aerobic exercise using biofeedback. Each session will be supervised by a licensed physical therapist trained in biofeedback. After each session, patients will be given home exercises to complement the program. At the end of eight sessions the goal is for individuals to be independent in performing progressive muscle relaxation, paced breathing, postural and aerobic exercise on their own.
  3. Bridget Dungan, PT, DPT, OCS recently recertified with Active Release Therapy and took their Long Nerve Entrapment continuing education course. Nerve entrapment can occur from muscle tightness or decreased movement of the nerves, providing release and stretch to the nerve can decrease symptoms.
