January/February 2016 Newsletter

Happy 2016 Everyone! We hope you are all staying healthy and enjoying the uncharacteristically mild winter!

We have some news to share with you this Jan/Feb month:

We bid farewell to Aaron Swanson, a beloved veteran DSPT therapist, as he makes his way down south to North Carolina. It is with a heavy heart, we wish him all the best.

Conversely, we are excited to announce the addition of TWO new physical therapists to Dynamic Sports Physical Therapy: Bridget Dungan and Alan Ng!

A few tips and links to kickstart your health and outlook for the new year:

  1. According to Julie Wiebe, "breathing well is a part of stabilizing well" in discussing how runners need a better strategy to create stability that is still responsive to the unique and dynamic demands of running.
  2. Acupuncture has been found to decrease neck pain and increase range of motion in a recent article by F. Gargano in the Journal of Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy.
  3. Interestingly, post-traumatic headaches following a concussion may also contribute to increased balance deficits.
